Rhodonite is a manganese metasilicate mineral first discovered in 1819 only in the Ural Mountains of Russia. Named from the Greek word meaning 'rose' due to its pink to rose red color and also comes in black and brown varieties with pink inclusions, getting its colors from Manganese, Calcium, and Iron.
