A beautifully luminous polished calcite disc presenting a softer, more open composition than is typical of this stone, its predominantly white and cream ground giving it a lightness and airiness that makes it particularly striking. Across both fully polished faces, crisp white calcite banding flows in broad, sweeping horizontal formations across the upper portion, the bands curving gently as they cross the disc in a way that evokes the slow movement of clouds or the surface of still water disturbed by a gentle current.
The lower half of each face deepens into richer territory, warm sand and soft taupe zones interspersed with areas of fine dark dendritic inclusions and granular grey patterning that add texture and detail to the otherwise open composition. The boundary between the white upper zones and the more complex lower sections is naturally irregular and organically flowing, with white banding dipping down in places to create pockets and bays of lighter tone within the darker areas.
Both faces present slightly different versions of the same composition, each rewarding and distinct. The clean circular cut and polished edge give it a clean, refined presentation.
